Announcing Calling All Kin: A Podcast Reclaiming Indigenous Child Welfare in BC

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Cited Media is proud to announce the release of Calling All Kin, a podcast produced with hosts Hiinahcit Petrina Dezall and Erika Finestone. You can listen to the trailer above.

This seven-episode mini-series explores the evolving landscape of Indigenous child welfare in British Columbia, highlighting the people and approaches that help keep Indigenous families together in systems designed to pull them apart. Erika and Hiinahcit interview Indigenous child welfare changemakers—advocates, activists, lawyers, service providers, leaders, and Elders—who have ‘answered the call’ to protect children and uphold Indigenous self-determination.

The first episode is available today, September 30th, 2026, and the subsequent six will be released weekly over the next six Wednesdays. You can subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or by inputting our RSS feed into your preferred feed reader.

The lead producer for Calling All Kin is Cited Media’s Nadeen Shaker, with additional support from Gordon Katic. The podcast is also guided by an advisory board of scholars and advocates, including Dr. Jeff Corntassel, Ry Moran, Dr. Andrea Walsh, and Elder Advisor Dr. Jeannine Carriere.
